The acquisition marks a deliberate expansion of Pacolet Milliken's biomass platform. As a family-owned investment firm with an explicit sustainability mandate, the company has positioned biomass energy — which generates power from organic materials such as wood waste — as a core component of its long-term investment thesis in the renewable sector.
Biomass power has drawn increased attention from private investors seeking stable, asset-backed returns in the energy transition, particularly in regions where agricultural and forestry byproducts are readily available. Northeast Georgia's timber industry provides a natural feedstock base that supports the operational economics of the acquired facilities.
