Broadridge to Add On-Chain Governance to NYSE Tokenized Securities Platform
Broadridge will provide on-chain shareholder governance and digital transfer agency services to NYSE's upcoming tokenized securities platform, pending regulatory approval.
Broadridge Financial Solutions announced plans to integrate on-chain shareholder governance and digital transfer agency services into the New York Stock Exchange's tokenized securities platform, a system set to launch after receiving regulatory clearance.
The partnership positions Broadridge, a major financial technology infrastructure provider, as a key back-end services supplier for what would be one of the most prominent U.S. exchanges to formally enter the tokenized securities space. On-chain governance would allow shareholder voting and related corporate actions to be conducted directly on a blockchain, while digital transfer agency services would handle the recordkeeping and ownership tracking traditionally managed by paper-based or legacy electronic systems.

The move reflects a broader industry push to modernize capital markets infrastructure by migrating traditional securities functions onto distributed ledger technology. Tokenized securities — digital representations of conventional financial instruments recorded on a blockchain — have drawn increasing attention from regulators, exchanges, and institutional investors seeking faster settlement, greater transparency, and reduced operational costs.
Broadridge's involvement signals institutional confidence in the NYSE platform's prospects, given the firm's existing role processing trillions of dollars in daily securities transactions globally. The arrangement, however, remains contingent on regulatory approval before any formal launch can proceed.
